1. Concept & Budget
Our design and budget consult process is about exploration.
You don’t always know what you want until you know all the options so we help you explore options and figure out what’s best for your needs.
Then we create an accurate budget, detailed scope of work and a selection sheet with Good Better Best options.
The next step is to approve your budget and move into design.
2. Design & Ordering
Our design process is about seeking inspiration and turning that into detailed plans and constuction documents.
Each design meeting has a specific goal starting with NKBA design standards and code requirements then moving into the ‘fun’ stuff’.
To prepare for construction, we create detailed construction documents and schedules. You’ll have access to everything in your online project portal.
We order all your materails and store store them for you until the project starts.
3. On Site Construction
Construction and project mangement is where we execute on the plans made in design.
Communication is the key to success and your project manager will create daily logs in the morning, mid day and afternoon in your online proejct portal so you always know what’s happening.
They are on site every day and are your point person for any questions or concerns. They make sure your home stay clean, safe and organized and that things are built to plan, on time and on budget.
We schedule 3 formal walk throughs with you over the course of the project as well where you, your project manager and your designer will review progress and build quality.
While we pride ourselves on keeping your home clean throughout the project, but after all the work is complete we will also arrange for a professional cleaning to make sure it is completely dust free.
4. Follow Up & Warranty
Once your project is complete we’ll let you settle back in then follow up to make sure no small adjustments or touch ups are needed.
You’ll get a 6 mo ‘Tune Up” visit and annual check ins to make sure everything is performing as expected.
We provide a 3 year warranty on all workmanship.
How Long will it take?
It can take 3 months from our first meeting to project completion for single room projects. Multi-room or whole home remodeling projects take longer.
The Initial Consult: About 1 Week
You should be able to schedule your home visit withing a week of your discovery call. We need about a week to create your budget and 3D concept before your showroom visit. So your showroom visit is usually a week or two after the home visit.
Planning & Design: 1 – 2 weeks
Expect to spend 5-7 weeks in design. We usually allow for 2 – 4 design meetings and we also need time to collect bids from our trade partners and samples from our vendors.
Ordering and Receiving: 2 – 8 weeks
Order times are slowly coming down but it can still take 6 to 8 weeks for everything to arrive. We don’t start construction until all materials are in our warehouse and have been checked for damage.
Construction: 4 – 6 weeks
A small bathroom project without any layout changes could be done in 3 or 4 weeks but larger projects like kitchens can take up to 8 weeks. Whole home remodels can take up to 12 weeks.
How Much Will It Cost
With our small bath program a we can completely update a hall bath for around $20,000. Large kitchens can can cost $90,000 or more. Our average project size for a single room is around $25,000 – $50,000.
